Property and applications |
Propylene glycol (PG), with
its formula C3H8O2 and structural formula
It is colorless and stiff liquid and can be mixed
and solved with water, ethanol and some other organic
solvents.
PG can be used as a raw material of unsaturated polyester
resin and plasticizer, surface active agent, emulsifying
agent and demulsifizer. It can also be used as mold
inhibitor, antiseptic for fruit, antifreeze and moisture
preservation of tobacco.

| Packing, storage and
transportation |
| Packed in galvanized iron
drums or vessel made of aluminum or stainless steel,
net weight 200 g for each. It doesn't spontaneously
combust but is listed as a combustible. It can be
stored for a long time without deterioration, but
is susceptible to moisture while uncovering. It can
be stored and transported as a low toxic chemical
product. |
