Dimethy Carbonate £¨DMC£©
with its formula C3H6O3 and structural formula
It is colorless and transparent liquid. Its melting
point is 4¡æ and boiling point 90.3¡æ. It can be mixed
with some organic solvents such as alcohol, ketone
and grease at any proportion but minutely soluble
in water.
As a widely used chemical material, it'a nice methylating
agent and carbonylating agent and non-reaction matter,
such as menstruum of medicine making, special quickly
drying paint and spraying agent. It's an ideal substitute
of some toxic substance like phosgene, dimethyl sulphate,
methyl chlorafomrmate etc., thus it's called as a
green chemical product. |
